2024 PERFORMERS

Cody Wayne

FB_IMG_1726518097138.jpg

Opening for this year's Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival, we're excited to have Cody Wayne grace the stage! Cody is an acoustic artist out of Elko, NV. He has been playing music all over northern Nevada for the last 10 years. His style of music ranges from country to 90's alternative and a few things in between! He has been playing alongside local musicians and bands for years and enjoys most of all, breaking songs down to raw acoustic sound. He recently joined January Baker on stage to open for Clay Walker in Elko!

This Young man is charismatic and puts a lot of work into presenting an engaging show with great looping chops and impressive vocals, we couldn't ask for a better start to the event!

January Baker

Catch January Baker at Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival this year! January is out of Battle Mountain, NV and has been performing all over northern Nevada and Idaho playing private parties, restaurants, bars, and festivals. She is known for her powerhouse vocals and has led the National Anthem at many events including the Reno Rodeo, Silver State Stampede, and more. She also recently opened for Clay Walker in Elko, NV!

Her music is strongly influenced by country artists of the past and present, and her lyrics come straight from the life she lives in rural Nevada, on a small farm with her Husband and Children.

Her very first self written song, Chevy's in Heaven was inspired by the loss of her father at a young age. Songs such as The Hotel Song and Full Time Job are raw and simple stories from her life.

This is just the beginning of her journey, and living in a small town isn't going to stop her. It's what launches her.

January is a full-time farm mom and wonderful artist who gives her all on stage, and we are so proud to have her back at this year's festival!

Hunter Ostler & Byron Cragg

FB_IMG_1726596325361.jpg

This is Hunter Ostler's 3rd year at Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival. Growing up ranching and farming, he's always preferred the country way of life, and it shows in his music. A Montana native who considers himself a Nevada transplant, he has farmed in Antelope Valley and now works in Elko's booming mining industry. Hunter is known for writing simple, straightforward songs about the things he observes in his life, in his style - nothing fancy, nothing crazy. Born in Montana, he now calls Elko home and has been writing songs while playing gigs around Northern Nevada for the past couple of years. He gives his all in every performance and loves sharing his songs with anyone who is willing to listen.

Hunter is joined by Byron Cragg, a talented percussionist who resides in Carlin, NV and plays with many of the area's local musicians. Byron is a great character to have around and is always providing a stellar backup on rhythm.

We are super excited to have these two back this year!

Due Tide

Due tide is a husband & wife duo featuring Amanda and Cody Erickson, that brings a lot of (but not limited to) classic rock tunes, duets, and originals. Both Amanda and Cody have been involved with music over the years, dating back to before they were in choir together in 2001 as freshmen in high school. They started dating the following year and were married in 2005. Since their debut in the Elko community last summer, they have since been playing all over Elko, a little in Idaho, sang the National Anthem for Silver State Stampede, and we are excited to have them back for their second year performing at Sagebrush Sounds!!

Kat Heart

FB_IMG_1726606030728.jpg

As an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and wildly powerful vocalist, Kat Heart is a genuine souled, genre bending artist to behold. Find her playing live as a solo act, heavy on the lo-fi vibes, with dreamy loops and layers, soulful vocals, and a unique sound that's all her own. Or with a bevy of musical groups in the region adding background harmonies, lead guitar riffs, or even sitting behind the drum kit. You might also find her in the studio, collaborating on various recording projects, or creating her own dreamlike, indie-rock jam band soundscapes. You can always find her sharing the love with those around her in a myriad of ways. So find her wherever you like best, but whatever you do, go find her on a stage near you.

"Kat Heart is a one-woman show. Her stage presence is a force not to be underestimated. Her sweet, charming and albeit clumsy personality has a spicy, fierce side - if you wait through a few cheerful, happy-go-lucky songs, she'll let you know."

"If y'all like heart wrenching vocals and gritty guitar, you gotta listen. Kat Heart is an amazing songwriter and human being. Do your ears a favor and check this out, then go see Kat live."

              - Lucas Paul

J.T. Balaam

Sagebrush Sounds is proud to present JT Balaam, back for a third run on our stage. JT is a transplant to the Great Basin, his family moved to Winnemucca in 1997, and he's been a local ever since, save for the few years he blew around in the wind. An overabundance of guitar players lead to the discovery that he was a pretty smooth bassist back in '07, and a lack of bass openings brought him back to his roots as an acoustic guitar player.

Though his interests as a listener span from Wu-Tang to John Mayer, Gordon Lightfoot to Black Label Society, JT considers himself a country inspired solo artist. When asked if he could compare himself to anyone currently mainstream, he said,

"It would be Tyler Childers" - adding, "but not really."

JT typically plays bar gigs and brings a setlist of songs everyone can sing along to, but he's looking forward to showcasing some of his original work at the 3rd Annual Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival.

This guy is an integral part of Mucctown Sound and has been a supporter since day one without a doubt. We are beyond proud to have him grace our stage in 2024!

Dan Domingo

FB_IMG_1726699037658.jpg

Dan Domingo grew up in Winnemucca and began playing and writing music here in 2006. He was a solo act and a member of Stalking Moon and The Velvet Knights. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a teacher and pretzel maker by day. He still jams at his house for fun, and he hopes to continue writing and recording songs as the years roll on.  Sagebrush Sounds  is so glad to have Dan Back  on our stage once again. He brings a great mix of reflective originals and unexpected  covers,  with a great perspective and personality it's always wonderful to see Dan perform!

Gold & Honey

Eli Johnson also grew up in our small town of Winnemucca and  through the years has become a known musician in the PDX area as well as surrounding cities. Eli had to delay his appearance last year due to logistics, but we couldn't be more excited to have Gold & Honey grace our stage  this year! He is presenting a Duo this year, Gold & Honey is a harmony driven Americana sound. With songs from the 70's to current Era and a few originals. Expect an electrifying  set from these two talented individuals!!!

Tom has become a part of the music scene here in Winnemucca and many other places throughout the years. He has performed at local dives and surrounding watering holes. Tom is the resident country singer at Zion National Park, and this will be his 3rd  year at The Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival!!

High Desert Habit

High Desert Habit is a Winnemucca honky tonk rock 'n' roll  trio. This tight knit group considers themselves a family unit. They are just coming off a 60 show run this year during spring and summer tours, and have put in a lot of miles. They are definitley looking forward to performing for the hometown crowd!
High Desert Habit has released two albums on all streaming platforms and has another album on the way in mid-October. Songs based on friends, family, and loss on the high desert. Writing through reflection with personal struggles and inevitable changes brings raw music that connects with audiences.
Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival started off  as a dream fueled by  these three, and a handful other like minded friends. Looking forward to having these guys get rowdy and play too loud & fast at Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival 2024!!

Peter G & the Pedro Greengo Band

FB_IMG_1726881855145.jpg

Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival is glad to have our brother Peter Granath, aka Pedro Greengo, back for a set this year. Peter is a  singer and songwriter and first came to Winnemucca from the Seattle area.

"The path of my musical journey runs right thru the heart of downtown Winnemucca and the memories and moments shared there with so many amazing musicians, artists, and friends. This is a homecoming I look forward to, honor to be invited again and so excited to play and hear so much awesome music!"    -Pedro Greengo

Peter is a close friend, brother, and fourth member of Mucctown Sound, we look forward to having him back again this year at the Sagebrush Sounds Music Fesival. We appreciate all that he does for us at Mucctownsound.com.

Having a community driven festival was the brain child of Greengo's many years ago during early morning discussions over coffee. His first event was an "After Hours Rendezvous" at The Humboldt County Museum in order to raise community awareness of our history as well as museum memberships. Featuring many local acts, it was an inspiring event, to say the least. From that night in November of 2017, he unknowingly sprang the roots of what we now know as The Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival.

Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival  is proud to present Mr. Johnson & His Loaded Dice, Coming out of the bright lights of Reno Nevada, is a Country and Western act that is ready to take you back to some Golden Country Music! Hitting the stage for the first time in 2021, Mr. Johnson brings old classics back along with some newer influences such as, Ray Price, Eddie Noack, George Jones, Joe Diffie, Garth Brooks, and even George Strait! Zachery (Mr.) Johnson comes in front with ear blessing vocals and harmonious guitar, he has been a local musician for almost a decade in the rock/punk/metal scene. He has now jumped from Drums to the front of the stage for Country Guitar/Vocals. Joined by him is a cut throat group of professionals who are out for musical blood!

Mr. Johnson & His Loaded Dice

Leading with ludicrous licks is Jonah Winchester, the Pedal Steel Extraordinaire! Having grown up in Wyoming and moving to Reno at 10, Jonah has been a Desert Native for quite some time now. Studying Jazz guitar for over 25 years, Jonah decided to pick up the Pedal Steel and has been eating up the competition with his meaningful melodies that could make even a Gold Miner cry.
Coming in on the Upright Bass is the one and only, Thunderous Hand Slappin, J.P. Hogfat! Having played in many Punkabilly and Hardcore bands, D has gone back to his Desert roots to slap the bass to a more traditional beat. Growing up in Yerington, D is no stranger to Country Music and farmland but has new influence and direction for the ever changing world of Country/Western.
Lastly is Luci Rose! The Snare Smackin, Smoking Hot, Beat of the Band! Having just picked up the sticks in Feb of 2023, Luci has been showing her rhythm and time like no one's business! Being given the nickname "The Atomic Clock" Luci has been cutting her teeth hard with Mr. J for the last few months and will be a forced to be reckoned with before you know it!
Mr. Johnson is climbing his way to the top and becoming THE premier Country/Western band in the Northern NV/CA Area. See for yourself!

Texas Red's Last Request

Based out of Reno, NV, Texas Red's Last Request takes you back to the roots of country music and brings you new tunes to remind you of simpler times. TRLR pays tribute to the classics you'd hear in a Bakersfield honky tonk or Texas dancehall, complete with enough pedal steel, fiddle and accordion to make Bob Wills proud. Frontman and songwriter Colin Sturrock combines clever wordplay, raw emotion and a shufflin' backbeat into unique tunes inspired by country greats from his native Texas. Since relocating to Northern Nevada in 2023, Colin found kindred spirits in his love of traditional country music in Brian Johnson (guitar), Rob Focha (pedal steel), Gabe Plank (fiddle and accordion), and Jimmy Bozzio (drums). Put that all together and you've got a hot little honky tonk five-piece that's ready to get the two-steppin' started. Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival is very excited to have them on our stage this year!

Madeiros Drive

FB_IMG_1726887367133.jpg

Fresh off the scene and already taking Reno, Nevada by storm, Madeiros Drive is a country/rock/honkytonk outfit bringing a high-octane blend of classic twang and modern grit.

This newly formed four-piece has wasted no time carving their path in the Northern Nevada country music scene. They've proven their chops on stage, opening for acts like Aaron Watson, and securing a spot at this year's Night in the Country Music Festival. This up and coming band is one you won't want to miss! Sagebrush Sounds is humbled to have them performing at this year's Music Festival!
